Abstract

Objective:The effect of Hg2+ on rice seedling growth was studied. Methods:The effect of Hg2+ treatment (0~2.0mmol/L) on seedling height, fresh weight, chlorophyll content and activity of POD was studied by water-culture medium. Results: Growth of rice seedling was promoted at 0.05mmol·L-1 of Hg2+,in the short time. But the rice seedling growth was inhibited when the concentration of Hg2+ were increased. Activity of POD had a resistant peak and decreased afterward in lower concentration of Hg2+(0.05~0.1mmol·L-1), and higher concentration of Hg2+(0.5~2.0 mmol·L-1) treatment could reduced it. Conclusion:The inhibition of Hg2+ on rice seedling growth had a positive with culture concentration and time.
