Though the meaning of the four characters of oracle-bone scripture■(A),余(■),东(■■),不(■■)has early been explained,yet there are still errors in the explanation.This note points out that ■(A) is thecharacter口written upside down,余(■)is the character吐meaning‘vomit’;the character东(■■)has close rela-tion with the character车;the character不(■■) is the image of a bird.
