Abstract
Objective To observe whether the BODE index correlates with with prognosis of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) patients. Methods The BODE index of 60 patients with stable COPD were assessed.Consecutively followed up 12 months, the health conditions and quality of live were analyzed. Results The higher BODE index is,the more the mortality of patients with COPD are. The BODE index was significantly related with the St George’s respiratory questionnaire (SGRQ) scores and the frequency of visit. Conclusions The BODE index,a simple multidimensional grading system for COPD,is a useful predictor and significantly related with the health conditions of patients.
