Empirical Analysis of Industry Structure and Industrial Competitiveness in Shandong Based on the Spatial Expansion of DSSM

Industrial structure and its competitiveness are important symbols of the quality and level of regional economic development. Optimizing the industrial structure and improving industry competitiveness are the inner driving forces of regional economic development. Based on the systematic analysis of the SSM' s evolution and development,the spatial expansion of DSSM was used to carry out comparative analysis horizontally and vertically for the industrial structure and industrial competitiveness of Shandong Province from 2002 to 2011. It is concluded that compared with the adjacent areas,the industrial structure of the second industry and the tertiary industry in Shandong Province are more reasonable with more competitive advantages; Instead,the first industry structure is unreasonable,and the industrial competitive advantage is small. So Shandong Province should seize the opportunity of the strategy of blue and yellow to optimize the industrial structure,develop the marine science and technology and tourism,and keep the advantage of the second and the third industry. At the same time,it should develop efficient ecological agriculture vigorously,improve the competitiveness of the first industry,integrate resources,and build the core competitiveness.
