Research on Effects of Exercise-induced Fatigue on Activity of Nitric Oxide Synthase(NOS) in Rat hippocampus

Abstract

In order to explore the relationship between exercise-induced fatigue and nitric oxide synthase(NOS) in hippocampus,this study explored effects of exerciseinduced fatigue on expression of NOS in rat hippocampus.After four-week swimming exercise with high-level intensity,under the quiet situation,the general NOS activity in rat hippocampus was tested adopted radioimmunological technique.The results of this study indicated that there existed a significant increase of the general NOS activity in rat hippocampus in fatigue group(P0.05).It was concluded that exercise-induced fatigue as a stress can inspire upregulated expression of NOS in hippocampus,which was involved in forming of exercise-induced central fatigue.It was proposed that it was due to the psychological,behavioral,endocrine regulation of hippocampus on stress,and NO neurotoxicity.
