Abstract

Objective: To investigate the status of Helicobacter pylori infection and histologic characteristics of children′s upper alimentary diseases and the relationship between Hp infect ion and upper alimentary disease. Methods: Endoscopy and antral biopsies were performed in 186 cases of children with symptoms of digestive, and lesions findings. Results: Through endoscopy,178 cases of the children have digestive diseases,95.7%(178/186) cases had lesions,Hp examination were positive in 80 of 178 cases. The positive rate was 44.9%,Hp infection rate in children was associated with age significantly(r=0.937,P=(0.012)).The patients of chronic moderate inflammation were higher than the chronic mild inflammation in the rate of Hp infection.Patients with heavily degrees inflammation were higher than the chronic moderate inflammation in the rate of Hp infection;Hp infection rate was 56.3%(45/80) in minority, and 35.7%(35/98) in Han nationality, with significant differences. The incidence of age-related is significant (r=(0.990),P=0.003).Conclusion:(1) Hp infection rate of children increases with age.(2) The more sever lesion of mucosa, the higher positive rate of Hp.(3) Hp infections in minority is higher than that of the Han nationality.
