Abstract

Objective To investigate the expression of miR-21 in colorectal carcinoma(CRC) and tumor-adjacent normal colorectal tissue and analyze its clinicopathological significance. Methods The expression of miR-21 in the colorectal carcinoma and tumor-adjacent normal colorectal tissue was detected by real-time florescence quantitative PCR.Data analysis was performed by relatively quantitative method, the differential expression of miR-21 was observed in the different characteristics of colorectal carcinoma. Results The expression of miR-21 in CRC was up-regulated compared with tumor-adjacent normal colorectal tissue.Furthermore, the expression of miR-21 was related to the biological characteristics of CRC cancer cells. Conclusion The expression of miR-21 is related to the degree of differentiation, lymphatic node metastasis and hepatic metastatic cancer. The over-expression of miR-21 may play a role in the development and progression of CRC.
