Abstract

Objective To investigate the antibiotic resistance of the clinical isolates of ESBLs producing Enterobacteriaceae and the risk factor for infection. Methods The Enterobacteriaceae separated during 4 months from April/August 2001 were identified with MicroscanAS 4 system, and tested for antibiotic susceptibility. Results In all of the samples the productive rate of ESBLs was 36.4%, the productive rate of E.coli, E.cloacae and K.pneumoniae were 33.3%, 35.0% and 42.5% respectively. The resistance rate of ESBLs producing strains to eleven kinds of antibiotics was higher than that of no ESBLs producing strains, there were significant differences between them. Conclusions Risk factors for patient to be infected by ESBLs producing Enterobacteriaceae were the long\|period use of third\|generation cephalosporins, chronic consumptive disease and ICU patients. Imipenum, cephomycin and β lactanase/β lactanase inhibitor can be used for the treatment of ESBLs producing Enterobateroaceae infection.
