Abstract
Objective To investigate the prevalence of influenza A(H1N1)in schools in Guangzhou, and to provide the scientific basis for the control of outbreaks by analyzing the epidemiological characteristics and control illness measures. Methods A field survey of the outbreaks of the influenza A(H1N1) was conducted to test the specimens of throat swab. Results There were 196 outbreaks and 6 548 cases of influenza A(H1N1) were reported in schools in Guangzhou in 2009.The attack rate was between 0.02% to 36.51%.The outbreaks occurred mainly in primary school,114 outbreaks account for 58.16%.Peak time of influenza A(H1N1) outbreak was from September to November,175 outbreaks accounted for 89.29%.The correlation coefficient about the attack rate and the time between initial case to report was 0.268.Conclusion The influenza A(H1N1) virus is active in schools of Guangzhou in 2009.It is important to pay more attention to the surveillance in school.
