Abstract
The history of CPI compilation in China is still relatively short, and there are some imperfections in China's CPI.The CPI data released by the statistical department can't completely meet the needs of economic analysis, and China's CPI incurs a lot of questioning and criticism. To further improve China's CPI compilation and data release, this paper proposes to compile and release more accurate quality-adjusted CPI,CPI of different target population, core CPI measure for core inflation,CPI computed by superlative price index formula, and makes suggestions to improve methodology transparency and data release pattern, which provide references for further improvements of China's CPI.
