Abstract
By using Shanghai air quality data including Inhalable Particulate Matter(PM_(10) ),sulfur dioxide (SO_2).and nitrogen dioxide(NO_2) during 2001 to 2008,this paper analyzed the Shanghai air quality in 2008 and compared it with the average situation during 2001—2007.It was found that the days of good air quality in Shanghai was 328 in 2008.In 38 days of air pollution,PM_(10) was the main pollutant for 37 days and NO_2 was only for 1 day.Compared with that in 2007,the air quality in 2008 was a little bit better since there were no mid-grade and heavy air pollutions all around the year but other situations were basically equivalent to 2007.This paper also analyzed the air pollution reasons by using meteorological factors such as the surface weather type, wind direction and wind speed.
