Abstract

Objective:To explore the effect of different storage conditions on the results of clinical urine analysis, and to improve urine pre-analysis quality.Methods:Thirty-three patients were randomly recruited from Anzhen Hospital. The participants'urine samples were analyzed with the urine biochemical tests, routine urine tests and urine flow determination respectively.Paired t-test and Wilcoxon rank sum test were used in the statistical analysis. Results:When urine samples were conserved at room temperature, the values of sodium after 4h,Creatinine and uric acid after 6h increased significantly(P0.05),while Leukocytes average scattering intensity referred to in the preceding paragraph after 6h decreased significantly(P0.05),and total protein after 6h increased significantly(P0.05).However,other values remained unchanged after 8h.Under the storage condition in refrigerator at 4℃,the values of potassium and uric acid decreased significantly after 6h and 8h respectively(P0.05).Other values had no significant change after 8h(P0.05).Conclusions:Storage conditions(temperature and time) may influence the results of clinical urine analysis. Therefore, the flow process of the urine analysis should be standardized in the practical work.
