Abstract

With the development of the cold war studies, the Cold War International History is focusing on the following three aspects. The first is the US-Soviet relations. As the dominant forces, the US-Soviet had played an important role in every area of the cold war.The issue now is how to understand their respective strategies about the origin of the cold war based on the synchronization of its breaking out between the West and the East. The second is bloc confrontation.More and more scholars show concern on the allies' impact on the process of the cold war.Much attention is put on the comparative study of the two camps. The third is the Third World. Most underdeveloped countries emerging from colonialism were born in the Cold War.Their breaking away from the great powers involved in the cold war had some effect on the international pattern transition from the two poles to the multipoles.
