Abstract
Objective:To investigate the expression and clinical significance of IL-17 in primary human hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).Methods:Serum from 165 primary HCC patients and 35 benign liver tumor patients and 30 normal controls were collected for the present study.The serum IL-17 level was measured by ELISA,the expression of IL-17 mRNA in HCC tissues via surgical excision were detected by real-time PCR.Results:The serum IL-17 level was greatly higher in HCC patients compared with that in benign liver tumor patients and normal controls.Real-time PCR results showed that the expression level of IL-17 mRNA was significantly higher in cancer tissues than that in the peritumoral and normal liver tissues(P0.05).Conclusion:IL-17 obviously increased in HCC tissues and serum,indicating that it may play an important role in the diagnosis and treatment of HCC.
