The efficiency and prospects of the development of new type glued-laminated bamboo furniture

By comparing with wooden and traditional bamboo furniture, the characteristics of new type glued-laminated bamboo furniture are analyzed. Accordingly, it is proposed that developing new type glued-laminated bamboo furniture and replacing wood with bamboo is a feasible way to solve the raw materials crisis and enhance the utilization value of bamboo. Based on a review of the advances in this field at home and abroad, it is held that there is a broad potential market for developing the new type glued-laminated bamboo furniture as green products which have high economic, social and ecological effects.
