Abstract
Firstly,this paper modifies the method of measuring intellectual property protection,and calculates the level of intellectual property protection in China from 1985 to 2007.Secondly,using the conventional perpetual inventory model,we calculate technology knowledge stocks via China's RD expenditure and technology import.Finally,based on endogenous growth theory,this paper takes technology innovation endogenous;using time series data of China,this paper examines the effect of intellectual property rights on economic growth by including technology knowledge stocks as proxy for knowledge accumulation.The result shows that strengthening intellectual property protection can stimulate China's economic development under current condition.
