Abstract
Objective To study the feasibility of C-reactive protein(CRP) as predictable markers for early severe acute pancreatitis(SAP).Methods A retrospective analysis was performed in 127 patients with acute pancreatitis(AP) from January 2004 to December 2007.The values of CRP in the four stages after hospitalization were measured respectively. Results The C-reaetine protein level of the two groups was increased in the first day,and the peak value appeared in the third day. There was statistic significance in the value of CRP between the severe group and mild group. Conclusion CRP is highly sensitive with the severity of acute pancreatitis. It may be an early predictable marker for SAP.
