Abstract

Cationic modification of ramie fiber was carried out, followed by reactive dyeing. Dyeing behaviors of modified ramie fiber were investigated, such as dye uptake, fixation, dyeing rate, apparent depth, deep dyeing and so on. Dyeing results were compared with those of control fiber and alkali modified fiber. It was said that cationic modified ramie features high dye uptake and fixation with salt free, but the levelness and migration are poor.
