Abstract

Objective To investigate the influence of TNF-α inhibitor(Etanercept)in the spontaneous resorption of ruptured lumbar disc herniation. Methods forty-two male SD rats after two weeks of feeding adaptation were randomly divided into drug group and non-drug group.non-drug group were randomly divided into model group Ⅰ(Disc not puncture group)、model group Ⅱ(Disc puncture group);drug group:(TNF-α inhibitor group)injected with etanercept. All animal were sacrificed after the success of animal model after administration for 4weeks.Intervertebral discs in rats made to do TNF-α immunohistochemistry and detected the loss of cell content of macrophages. Results Disc punctured group TNF-α expression by immunohistochemical staining high rate, while disc not puncture group positive rate less,TNF-α inhibitor group have little positive expression; All group has a positive expression of macrophage, but disc puncture group, macrophages positive expression was the highest. Conclusion Ruptured lumbar disc herniation is easily resorption.However,TNF-α inhibitor reduce the inflammatory response within the herniated disc level,is not conducive to the removal of necrotic tissue and resorption.
