Efficacy of Bisoprolol/hydrochlorothiazide Compound Tablet in Essential Hypertension

Objective:To evaluate the efficacy of bisoprolol/hydrochlorothiazide compound tablet in mild and moderate essential hypertension.Methods:In the double-blind,pararrel and controlled study with the positive drug,36 patients with mild and moderate essential hypertension were randomly divided into two groups: treatement group with bisoprolol/hydrochlorothiazide compound tablet(n=20),and control group with bisoprolol(n=16).The curative effect in two groups were observed.Results: After 8 weeks,the total effective rate was 80.0% in treatment group and 37.6% in control group(P0.01).Conclusion: The effect of bisoprolol/hydrochlorothiazide compound tabletis markedly superior to that of bisoprolol in treatment of hypertension,which can be used as the first medicine for mild and moderate essential hypertension.
