Abstract

Lu Ji's Imitative Ancient Poems' value isn't strongly based on the contents, but these works have a very important function in the course of ancient poem development. These works were the first step that turned round the trend which people valued Si-yan poem and despised Wu-yan poem. It was favorable for the Wu-yan poem's further development. Lu Ji's works were more elegant in the formality, showed the trend of Wu-yan poem's development from popularity to refinement. Lu Ji's works produced an important influence on the Wu-yan poem's development, founded a way to increase writing abilities by studying people of the past.
