Analysis of heart rate variability and ambulatory blood pressure of elderly patients with hypertension and concurrent hypertension and diabetes

Abstract

Objective To investigate the characteristics of heart rate variability(HRV)and ambulatory blood pressure(ABP)of elderly patients with essential hypertension(EH)and EH complicated with diabetes mellitus type 2(T2DM).Methods The parameters of HRV and ABP were compared in 26 cases of EH,32 cases of EH with T2DM and 22 control subjects.Results SDNN(P0.01)and HF(P0.05)of EH group were significantly lower and LF(P0.05)and LF/HF(P0.05)were significantly higher than those of control group respectively.SDNN(P0.01)and HF(P0.05)of EH+DM group were significantly lower and LF/HF(P0.01)was significantly higher than those of EH group respectively.24hSBP(P0.05),dSBP(P0.01)and dDBP(P0.05)of EH+DM group were significantly higher than those of EH group respectively.Conclusion The HRV and blood pressure variability is abnormal in patients with EH,which can be made serious by glycometabolism disorders.
