On the Public-sphere Functions of the Network Media in China

The public sphere is a controversial concept in poltiical science proposed by Habermas.The development of the mass media and the public sphere are closely related,however,with the progression of the history,the functions of modern mass media have been degrading.Though the emergence of internet media triggered by the new technology,esp.,the emergence of the blog in succession to the Email,BBS,ICQ,has greatly expanded the space for individual's free speech,but the growth of the network media is still subject to the development of the overall communication environment.We look forward to the healthy growth of the networks of public sphere.
