Abstract
Objective To investigate the relation of survivin gene with the progress of gastric carcinoma. Methods Expression of survivin mRNA and protein was detected by in situ hibridization and immunohistochemistry in 30 cases of gastric carcinoma,20 cases of benign gastric tissue(including 5 of chronic gastritis,5 of gastric ulcer,10 of neighboring noncancerous tissues). The apoptosis in situ gastric tissue was identified by the terminal deoxynucleotidy transfer mediated dUTP-biotin nick end labeling(TUNEL).Results There was no positive signal of survivin mRNA and protein detected in non-carcinoma of gastric tissue. In gastric carcinoma, the positive expression rate of survivin mRNA was 36.67% and survivin protein was 46.67%.The expression of survivin in different TNM clinical staging and with or without lymph node metastasis cases had significant difference(P0.05).Conclusion survivin is over expressed in gastric caicinoma and obviously inhibited apoptosis.survivin plays an important role in the carcinogenesis of gastric carcinoma.
