The Expressin of Survivin in Laryngeal Cancer and its Significance

Abstract

[Purpose] To study the expression of apoptosis protein inhibitor, survivin, in laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma and the relationship with clinicopathologic features. [Methods] The expression of survivin in 68 cases with laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma was detected immunohistochemically. [Results] The positive rate of survivin expression in laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma was 52.9%(36/68). Which was correlated to clinical staging, pathology grades and lymph node metatasis. [Conclusions] Survivin might be act as a new marker to forecast prognosis for laryngeal cancer.
