Abstract
The flow control devices in the tundish of slab continuous caster in No.3 steelworks in Angang were studied and optimized with water model experiments. The results show that former tundish structure cause too short minimum residence time and large dead volume, while weirs and dams with reasonable structure and optimal turbulence inhibitor can improve the fluid characteristics in the tundish significantly, which can keep the fluid surface steady in the upper infusing area of nozzle hole in the ladle.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
