Comparative study on condition of abutments between the SD ball-cap attachment dentures and traditional removable partial dentures at different stage

Objective:To study the condition of abutments between the SD ball-cap attachment dentures and traditional removable partial dentures at different stage.Methods:60 kennedy type I dentition defect patients were selected and the differences were checked about the cariogenesis,gingivitis and periodontitis of the abutments between SD ball-cap attachment dentures and traditional removable partial denturts.At different stage,the result was compared with each other.Results:There was significant difference on cariogenesis with the two kinds of dentures,but not on gingivitis and periodontitis.Conclusion:The cariogensis of the abutments of the patients wearing the SD ball-cap attachment denture is much lower than that wearing tradional removable partial dentures at different stage,but the gingivitis and periodontitis of abutments are not different between the two kinds of dentures.
