Screening of Active Ingredients of Chinese Medicine Astragalus Membranaceus against Newcastle Disease Virus

The viral infection is the main disease of livestock and poultry.In this test,the active ingredients of traditional Chinese medicine astragalus resistant to Newcastle disease virus were screened preliminarily.The results showed that the cell death numbers in extract prevent hole of 1,8,11 and 12 astragalus were significantly less than those of control hole inoculated with the virus,and the optical density value was significantly higher than the control group inoculated with the virus determined by MTT staining(P0.01).Compared with the control group inoculated with the virus,the cell death numbers in extract treatment hole of 1,6,10,12 and 13 astragalus were less,and the optical density value was significantly higher(P0.01).This indicates that alcohol extrac from the above astragalus membranaceus could have significant active role resistance to Newcastle disease virus.
