Treatment of Ureteral Calculi by Pneumatic Lithotripsy under Ureterscope

Abstract

Objective:To evaluate the clinical effect of pneumatic lithotripsy under ureterscope(URSL) in the treatment of ureteral calculi.Methods: Three hundred and five cases of ureteral calculi were treated by ureteroscopic pneumtic lithotripsy.Results: Lithotripsy was performed successfully on one session in 281 cases with a success rate of 92.1 %(281/305).The operation failed in 24 cases,with a effective treatment after the operation by ESWL,and stones were entirely expelled within 3 months after the procedures.Conclusion: With minimal invasion and pain,this procedure is safe and effective for ureteral calculi,could probably be taken as the prior choice in the treatment of ureteral calculi.
