Abstract

Objective To investigate the efficacy and safety of Nimodipine combined with electric acupuncture(EA) in the enhancement of cognitive function of patients with mild cognitive impairment(MCI).Methods A randomized controlled trial method was adopted.80 patients were divided into observation group and control group.Mini-mental state examination(MMSE) scale and pattern recognition experiments were given to patients before treatment, after one course treatment and after two courses of treatment. Results After two courses of treatment, total score of MMSE in both groups were significantly different compared with before treatment and the differences were significantly larger in the observation group than in single-drug group(P 0.01).The two groups also showed significant differences in cognitive, memory, verbal sub-item scores after the first course of treatment(P 0.01);cognitive and memory sub-item scores were also significantly different between the two groups after the second course of treatment(P 0.05),while verbal item scores showed no significant difference(P 0.05).Pattern recognition total scores of the two groups showed significant differences(P 0.05) after treatment. Conclusion After treatment, cognitive level has significantly improved in both groups, and the observation group is more effective than the control group.
