Abstract

Depravation,the representative novel by Yu Dafu attracted wide attention and discussion once published.Till now there are a lot of explorations on its theme with compliments or denouncements.This paper thinks that the writer has showed and approved human's dignity and values from the angle of people's spirit,emotion and beauty of human nature.Depravation embodies the brave pursuit of personality liberation and the value of cultural sociology,such as the dilemma between traditional morals and intellectuals' patriotism of that time.
