TREATMENT OF LIVER CAVERNOUS HEMANGIOMA WITH STRIPPING OPERATION

Abstract

Objective To evaluate the effectives of stripping operation for the treatment of liver cavernous hemangiomas. Method The clinical data of 66 cases of liver cavernous hemangioma which underwent stripping operation were analysed retrospectively in Tongji hospital from march 1997 to march 2003. Results All cavernous hemangiomas were enucleated successfully, there was no mortality and without postoperative complication. During the period of follow up ranging from 6 mouths to 5 years, all the patients had no recurrence occurred.Conclusion Stripping operation is safe, simple, effective and minimal trauma in the treatment of cavernous hemangioma of the liver. It should be suggested to apply in clinic.
