Abstract

The manifestation of Chinese painting emphasizes soul and spirit. It expresses the painter's sensation to the soci- ety, the life, the culture and the nature in this special painting language. The transformation of painting is the experience of art language. The history of art language is recorded from pictures of rock cave and tomb to royal painting. In the field of flower and bird painting, the artists of Ming Dynasty emphasized and especially soul, among whom Xu Wei made a combination of the soul, the and the scene. The Da developed it further, which made Chinese painting more mysterious with painting in feeling and feeling in painting. Shi Tao, however, used his own skill to express his attitude towards traditional art language heritage and development. Yangzhou Ba Guai, Ren Bo - nian and Wu Chang - shuo had respective characteristic styles in en- riching their painting languages and manifestation of artistic forms. Language and context in painting are the revelation of artistic from and pursuit, and the carrier of traditional culture and national culture. Nothing could happen in any form of arts without them in broad oriental cultural spirit.
