Abstract
Objective To investigate the expressions of chemokine CXCL12 and its receptor CXCR4 in triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC) and their clinicopathologic significance. Methods The expressions of CXCL12 and CXCR4 were detected immunohistochemically by SP method in 55 cases of TNBC.The corresponding clinicopathologic parameters(patient's age, tumor size, lymph node metastasis, clinical stage) were observed and analyzed. Results The expressions of CXCL12 and CXCR4 were not related to the age, tumor size and clinicopathologic stage(P0.05),but positively related to the axillary lymph node metastasis(r=0.413,0.325;P0.05).The expression rates of CXCL12 and CXCR4 were higher in those with lymph node metastasis than that without(uc=3.02,2.38;P0.05). Conclusion It seems that chemokine CXCL12 and its receptor CXCR4 can be served as important molecular markers for predicting axillary lymph node metastasis and prognosis of TNBC.
