Abstract

Objective To investigate the role of CXC chemokine receptor-7(CXCR7) and CXC chemokine ligand-12(CXCL12) in tumorigenesis of breast carcinoma. Methods The expression levels of clinicopathological markers(CXCR7/CXCL12) were obtained from histological specimens of 102 patients with breast carcinoma by Western blot analysis. Results The expression of CXCR7 and CXCL12 was significantly higher in breast cancer than in matched normal tiusse(P0.05).The expression of CXCR7 and CXCL12 was higher in lymph node metastases that were present in 36 of the 48 cases compared to the primary tumor. The expression level of CXCR7 and CXCL12 was related to lymph node metastasis(P0.05).Conclusion Overexpression of CXCR7 and CXCL12 is found in primary breast cancer and lymph node metastases. The CXCR7/CXCL12 may play an important role in lymph node metastasis of breast cancer.
