Abstract
Objective To introduce a transcallosal-interfornix approach for removing the tumors of the third ventricle. Methods 16 patients(agee 6 to 67 years) with third ventricle tumors were operated via the approach of transcalloal-interfornix.Results Under the operative microscope, the tumors were totally removed in 11 cases, subtotally in 3 cases, and partially in 2 cases, dead in 2 cases. Conclusion The transcallosal interfornix approach is the most effective method to resect Craniopharyngioma of the third ventricle. The postoperative complications were rare.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
