Abstract
Objective To study the effect of Sanshengyin on expression of Bcl-2 and Bax protein in rat hippocampus after focal cerebral ischemia.Method Rat model of middle cerebral artery occlusion(MCAO) and reperfusion was established.By means of SP immunohistochemistry,cells with positive expression of Bcl-2 and Bax protein in hippocampus were analyzed at 3,6,12,24 h and 3 d after reperfusion.Result In Sanshengyin group,Bcl-2 protein positive cells increased more and lasted longer than that in MCAO group,in different hippocampus districts of ischemia side,Bcl-2/Bax were different;while Bax protein positive cells of two groups had no significant differences.Conclusion Although Sanshengyin increases the expression of Bcl-2 and the ratio of Bcl-2/Bax,it doesn't stop the aptosis of neurons in hippocampus after focal cerebral ischemia.
