Abstract
Objective To evaluate the clinical value of treatment of lumbar disc herniation with medical ozone. Materials and Methods 35 patients with lumbar disc herniation were injected 5~10 ml medical ozone into disc and paravertebral space with 21G needles under fluoroscopic guidance. The ozone concentration was 50ug/ml. Results All patients were followed up over the period of 1~9months. The overall efficacy was 85.71% with the excellent 48.57%, the good 37.14% and the poor 14.29% respectively. Most of the patients obtained therapeutic effect in the period of half to 1 month after treatment. No severe complications were found throughout this study. Conclusion Percutaneous intradiscal ozone injection is an effective and safe method for treatment of lumbar disc herniation.
