Abstract
Objective STo investigate the therapeutic effect of positive end-expiratory pressure(PEEP) ventilation on patients with cerebral hemorrhage and neurogenic pulmonary edema(NPE).Methods Twenty one patients receiving PEEP ventilation were retrospective1y analyzed.PEEP pressure was set at 5~10 cm H2O.The changes of clinical symptoms,HR,RR,SpO2 and arterial blood gas(PaO2,PaCO2) were measured to evaluate the efficacy of PEEP ventilation. Results After PEEP ventilation, the clinical symptoms of all patients were improved significantly, arterial blood gas(PaO2,PaCO2,SpO2)showed statistical differences(P0.05).Conclusion PEEP ventilation improves symptoms and hypoxemia in patients with cerebral hemorrhage and NPE,it is an effective method for the treatment of cerebral hemorrhage and NPE.
