Clinical Observation of Vildagliptin Combined with Metformin in Treatment of Type 2 Diabetes with Obesity

Objective To explore the efficacy of vildagliptin combined with metformin in treatment of type 2 diabetes with obesity.Methods Patients(160 cases) who came to endocrinology department of Jilin province people's hospital from January 2013 to December 2014 were randomly divided into two groups;the metformin group was given metformin alone and the combination group was given vildagliptin and metformin;after 6 month,the indexes of two groups such as BMI,FPG,2hPBG,HbA1 c,GLP-1,TC,TG,HDL-C,LDL-C were observed.Results After treatment,compared with that before treatment,BMI,FPG,2hPBG,HbA1 c,TC,TG and LDL-C significantly decreased,and GLP-1,HDL-C significantly increased,the differences were statictically significant(P0.05);after treatment,BMI,FPG,2hPBG,HbA1 c,TC,TG and LDL-C in combination group dropped off more sharply,and GLP-1,HDL-C were rise more apparent than those in metformin group.the differences were statictically significant(P0.05).Conclusion.Vildagliptin combined with metformin in treatment of type 2 diabetes with obesity has a better effect,which is worthy of clinical popularization and application.
