Abstract

Objective To study the influences of psychological intervention on fasting blood sugar of patients with diabetes mellitus (DM) and mental disorder. Methods 95 patients with DM and mental disorder were divided into two groups randomly: control group (received routine nursing) and intervention group(received routine nursing and psychological intervention). The patients’ anxiety index, depression index and fasting blood sugar of two groups were evaluated when they admitted in hospital, discharged from hospital and after one month, then the data were analyzed by statistics. Results Compared with patients in control group, the anxiety index, depression index and fasting blood sugar of patients in intervention group were improved obviously. Conclusions Psychological intervention plays an active role in decreasing fasting blood sugar of patients with DM and mental disorder.
