Some Thoughts on the Formation Stage of South Fujian Culture

Determining the formation stage of South Fujian Culture(SFC) is a very important issue,as SFC boasts the most influential regional culture in Fujian with its most extensive coverage,involving the largest population group in Fujian Province.SFC has a longer history than East Fujian culture,it originated in the Tang Dynasty with Chen Zheng and Chen Guang who led immigrants to Fujian from central China,as the founding fathers.Researches in this area in the past decades failed to achieve convincing results due to the influence of the thoughts Doubting Ancient History,underestimating the contributions made at the beginning of the Tang Dynasty to the development of Quanzhou and Chaozhou Region and their impact on the development of SFC,thus unable to yield correct results about the formation stage of SFC.
