The Relationship between"Qing(情)"and"Cai(采)"in the Chapter of "Qing and Cai" in Carving a Dragon at Core of Literature: A New Interpretation

Instead reducing the controversies,the deepened academic researches Carving a Dragon at Core Literature has brought about more contradictions and divarications about the categories of and cai.Therefore,it is the primary task to restore the original meaning Liu Xie’s theory.Starting from the text,this article resurveys the interrelationships and distinctions between the categories and arrives at the conclusion thatcaiis different fromwen(文),becausewenandzhi(质)are the two dimensions cai,and thatqing is different fromzhi,becauseqingis the embodiment Liu Xie’s ontological theory qing and xing.It is the author’s hope that his research can help clarify the misinterpretations.
