Abstract
Objective To evaluate the therapeutic outcome of operation methods with simple rhegmatogenous retinal detachment(RRD).Methods 52 eyes with RRD were treated with scleral cryocoagulation, subretinal fluid drainage, segmental or encircling scleral buckling with silicon sponge or silica gel,gas filing into vitreous space. Results The rate of retinal reattachment was 98% and the postoperative visual acuity increased in 90.3% of patients. Conclusion Segmental or encircling scleral buckling combining with scleral cryocoagulation or gas filing appears to be effective in patients with RRD.The operation methods should be chosen according to the exact conditions.
