Abstract

AIM and METHODS: The expression of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) in 50 cases of non-small cells lung cancer cells (32 had node metastases and others without ) was examined by means of labeled streptoaviodin-brotin complex (LSAB) immunohistochemical technic, image analysis. RESULTS: Correlations were found between EGFR expression and histological types ( P 0.05), but the expression of EGFR in lung cancer had no correlation with its differeniation, and had significant negative correlation with tumour infiltrating lymphocytes (TIL) ( P 0.01), while EGFR expression was high the node metastatic percentage was 83% TIL was much less. CONCLUSION: The expression of EGFR was closely correlated with immuno-system in vivo, they both had effects on growth, differentiation , and metastasis of cancer cells.
