ORDOVICIAN SEQUENCE STRATIGRAPHY AND SEDIMENTOLOGY IN THE DABANTAGE AREA,TARIM BASIN

Abstract

The Ordovician Dabantage section was measured.The total thickness of the Ordovician strata in the section is 1013.38m.According to detailed observations,systematic sampling,and sequence boundary analysis,the Ordovician System of the Dabantage section was divided into the Penglaiba,Yingshan,Yijianfang,Tumuxiuke and Lianglitage formations,including 6 third-order class sequences,each of which consists of a transgression systems tract and a high systems tract,but not a lowstand systems tract.The Dabantage section records sedimentation on a carbonate platform.Sea level changes were the principal factor that affects the development of depositional systems.
