Clinical Analysis on Orbital Blowout Fracture

Objective To study the clinical characteristics,diagnostic and therapeutic methods of the orbital blowout fracture.Methods The data of the 89 patients with orbital blowout fracture confirmed by CT scan were analyzed.Results the causes of disease were hitting on the eyes (57.3%),car accidents(20.2%),kicking on the eyes(11.2%),hitting on the eyes by dull instruments(9.0%) and falling(2.2%).All patients had swollen and stagnant eyelids,different degrees of vision reduction,and some of them had big fracture areas with enophthalmos,strangulation of rectus lateralis muscle with limitation of eye movement,diplopia;hyphema,retinal turbulence,and macular hemorrhage et al were seldom observed.Conclusion The characteristics of orbital blowout fracture are very complicated so that it is easy to misdiagnosed,and CT scan plays an important role in diagnosis of orbital blowout fracture,and it is a useful standard to diagnose this disease.
