Abstract

OBJECTIVE To investigate the distribution of pathogens and antibiotic resistance change of the major pathogens in Urinary tract infection of our hospital, and provide experimental basis for effective clinical treatment and hospital infection control. METHODS Urine specimens collected from our patients during Jan 2008 to Dec 2009 were cultured. The distribution of pathogens and the antibiotic resistance change of Escherichia coli were studied. The PHOENIX 100 microbial identification system and its supporting composite plate were used to identify the bacteria, and the sensitivity to 18 kinds of antibiotics was detected. RESULTS Among 820 strains of pathogens from infected urinary tract,E.coli accounted for 38.0%;the antibiotics with the drug resistance rate 50.0% of ECO increased from 8 in 2008 to 11 in 2009;the rates of the ESBLs-producing E.coli have been increased from 47.3% in 2008 to 56.6% in 2009. CONCLUSION E.coli is the most common pathogens of the Urinary Tract Infection, whose resistance is raised.Clinician should pay attention to the changes in drug resistance of E.coli and prescribe the antibiotic correctly.
