Abstract
Objective To investigate the association between the G148A polymorphism of paraonase2 (PON2) gene and cerebral infarction (CI) in Chinese. Methods Genotype and allele frequency of PON2 G148A polymorphism were studied by polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) analysis in CI group and healthy control group. Serum lipids and blood sugar(FBS) from CI patients were measured at the same time. Results There were no significant differences in genotype and allele frequency of PON2 G148A polymorphism between CI group and control group (all P0.05). No significant differences were found in TC, TG and FBS among the subgroups which were divided according to different genotype and allele frequency of PON2 gene in the patients with CI.Conclusion G148A polymorphism of PON2 gene is not associated with CI.
