Lu Yao's homesickness can find its expressions in the depiction of the laboring scenes of north Shanxi and that of the natural beauty, and in his language that is loaded with flavor of local dialect. His probing into the essence of life and his retrospection of life show his feeling of heaviness about life. His persistent protection of the traditional virtues and his serious questioning of the characters in his works express his serious consideration of morality. The everlasting theme of his works is the bold, passionate love that has surpassed the worldly life. The fours aspects above represent his significant thoughts of literary creation.
